Email reports

Your numbers in your inbox — a daily snapshot, a weekly review and a monthly review, for your team and for people without an account.

Email reports send your key numbers by email on a schedule you choose, so you — and the people who need to know how the business is doing — see them without opening the app. A founder can read the daily snapshot over coffee; an investor can get the monthly review without ever logging in.

Open them from the profile menu (top right) → Email reports.

Email reports are part of paid plans. Nothing is ever sent until an admin switches a report on.

The three reports

Report
What it covers
When it goes out

Daily snapshot

Yesterday, compared with your 7-day average

On the days you pick, at the time you pick

Weekly review

Last week (Monday–Sunday), compared with the week before

Once a week, on the day and time you pick

Monthly review

Last month, compared with the month before

On the 1st of the month, at the time you pick

Each report has its own on/off switch, schedule, sections and recipients, so you can send the daily snapshot to yourself and the monthly review to your investors.

If the daily snapshot is off at the weekend, Monday's email covers Friday to Sunday, compared per day with your 7-day average.

Setting a report up

Admins set everything; the changes take effect when you press Save.

  1. Switch the report on.

  2. Choose when it goes out: the days (daily), the weekday (weekly), the time and the timezone. The timezone starts as your store's.

  3. Choose the sections to include (see below).

  4. Add the recipients.

  5. Press Save and turn on.

Use Send me a sample now to get the report for its latest completed period straight away — it goes to you only, not to the recipients.

Who gets it

A report can go to up to 10 people.

  • Teammates — pick anyone in your team. They start receiving it straight away, and the email has links into Molecule Data.

  • Anyone else — type any email address: a co-founder, an investor, an agency. They first get an email asking them to confirm; nothing is sent until they do. Their reports contain no links into the app. If the confirmation gets lost, press Send again next to their name.

Members who are not admins can add or remove themselves. Someone who leaves your team stops receiving the reports automatically.

Every email has an Unsubscribe link, and Gmail and Outlook also show their own one-click Unsubscribe button.

What's in the email

Each section can be switched on or off per report.

  • Summary — two sentences at the top, written by AI from the numbers in the email and nothing else: what mattered most, and the one thing to watch.

  • Numbers — the headline row (Net sales, Total spend, ROAS), then the metrics from the Dashboard Overview of the admin who set the report up, grouped into Sales, Efficiency and Traffic. Every number shows its change against the comparison period, green when it moved the right way and red when it moved the wrong way — for costs such as CAC and CPC, down is good. The weekly review adds a day-by-day chart of net sales (best day green, weakest red); the monthly review adds a week-by-week chart, where a week cut off by the start or end of the month is drawn lighter and labelled with its dates.

  • Channels — every paid channel with its spend, revenue, Molecule ROAS, Channel ROAS (what the ad platform reports), CAC and CPC, plus a total row. See Why your numbers don't match for why the two ROAS columns differ.

  • Creatives — your top creatives by spend, with their pictures, spend, ROAS and CTR; creatives that are wearing out; and how many new creatives went live, with the best one.

  • Attention — the Insights cards from the period: risks, opportunities, competitor moves and tired creatives.

  • Budget — shown when Budget management is on. The daily snapshot lists the budget proposals waiting for you; the weekly and monthly reviews list the changes that were applied and how revenue moved since.

A section with nothing to say for the period is left out of that email.

The numbers use Last touch (direct) attribution and your dashboard currency. They are the same numbers the Dashboard shows with that attribution method selected.

When exactly it arrives

The email goes out shortly after the time you set, in the report's timezone. If yesterday's data has not arrived from your store and ad platforms yet, Molecule Data waits for it — for up to three hours — and then sends what it has. Each person gets each day, week or month once.
